CM Stalin Launches Udangudi Power Plant Unit, Opens Key Projects

CM Stalin on Friday commissioned the first unit of the Udangudi thermal power project and inaugurated several development works across Tamil Nadu.
The Chief Minister launched the first unit of the 2×660 MW supercritical thermal power plant set up by Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited at Udangudi in Thoothukudi district. The project, built at a cost of ₹13,077 crore, was commissioned through video conference from the Secretariat in Chennai.
During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 35 completed projects worth ₹177.17 crore carried out by the Directorate of Municipal Administration under the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department. In addition, nine projects worth ₹32.23 crore executed by the Directorate of Town Panchayats were opened.
A new school building constructed by the Greater Chennai Corporation at a cost of ₹2.50 crore was also inaugurated.
Officials said these projects are expected to improve infrastructure, strengthen power supply, and support development in different parts of the State.
