The Government of India has firmly denied rumours of a possible lockdown amid the ongoing West Asia crisis, calling such claims “completely false.”

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri clarified that there is “no proposal under consideration” for imposing a lockdown in the country. He addressed the speculation that had been circulating in recent days, stating that the government has not made any such plans.

Similarly, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also dismissed the rumours, reinforcing that there is no discussion within the government regarding any restrictions of this nature.

The clarification comes at a time when concerns had been raised due to the evolving situation in West Asia. Officials emphasised that there is no need for public concern or panic over unverified information.

The government’s response aims to reassure citizens and maintain clarity on the situation.

Authorities have urged people to rely only on official sources for accurate updates and avoid spreading misinformation.
