A key administrative change has been made in Tamil Nadu’s Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) ahead of the upcoming elections.
Earlier, Davidson Devasirvatham, who served as the Director General of Police (DGP) of DVAC, was replaced by Sandeep Mittal. However, the appointment faced opposition from the DMK.
Following this, Sandeep Mittal was relieved from the post on the previous day, leading to another change in leadership. The development drew attention as it came during the election period.
In the latest move, Duraikumar has been appointed as the in-charge DGP of the DVAC. The order for this appointment was issued by Home Secretary Manivasan.
Officials indicated that these changes are part of administrative measures taken in view of the election process. Ensuring smooth and transparent functioning of departments during this period remains a priority.
The appointment is expected to support the continued functioning of the anti-corruption wing without disruption.
Overall, the move reflects ongoing efforts to maintain administrative stability and accountability during the election period.
