Janani G 1 week ago Tamil Nadu

With the election date approaching, the Election Commission of India has intensified preparations for polling in Tamil Nadu.

According to officials, key arrangements related to the voting process are being carried out in a phased manner to ensure a smooth and transparent election. In this context, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer and Principal Secretary to Government, Archana Patnaik IAS., announced that the process of setting candidate names and symbols in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will take place the day after tomorrow, on April 16.

The work will be conducted in the presence of representatives from various political parties. Election officials will oversee the process to maintain accuracy and fairness in the setup of the machines.

This step is considered crucial as it ensures that voters can clearly identify candidates and their symbols during polling. It also helps build confidence among political parties regarding the transparency of the election process.

The Election Commission continues to monitor all arrangements closely. These preparations reflect ongoing efforts to conduct free, fair, and well-organized elections in the state.
