The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the Class 10 board examination results, recording an overall pass percentage of 93.7% this year.
Continuing a consistent trend, girls outperformed boys in the examination. The pass percentage for female students stood at 94.99%, which is 1.3 percentage points higher than the 92.69% recorded by male students.
This year also marks a significant change in the examination system, as CBSE has introduced two editions of board exams for Class 10 students. The move aims to provide students with more opportunities to improve their performance and reduce academic pressure.
Region-wise, South India once again led the rankings with strong performances. Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada secured the top position with an impressive pass rate of 99.79%. Chennai followed closely with 99.58%, while Bengaluru recorded 98.91%.
The results highlight consistent academic performance across regions and reflect the effectiveness of the new examination approach. Overall, the outcome is seen as a positive step towards enhancing student learning and providing greater flexibility in assessments.
