Chennai:The Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging the erection of a pen memorial at artist Karunanidhi's memorial on the beach.
The Central Coastal Regulatory Authority and the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests have also given permission to artist Karunanidhi to set up a pen symbol on the Chennai Marina beach.
Against this, KK Ramesh from Madurai filed a case in the Supreme Court demanding protection of marine resources.
The Chief Justice bench that heard this case dismissed the petition as not filed in public interest.
