Under the Department of Social Welfare and Women's Rights of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the 'Child Girl Child Protection Scheme' is being implemented through the Tamil Nadu Electricity Fund Corporation. From 2001 to March 2023, 9 lakh 56 girl children have registered.
A fixed deposit of Rs.50 thousand for only one girl child born in the family and a fixed amount of Rs.25 thousand each for 2 female children will be invested in the name of the children. Similarly if the first birth is a girl child and the 2nd birth is a total of 3 girls including twin girls, Rs.25 thousand will be invested for each girl child on special permission.
To avail this, the family income should be within Rs.72 thousand per annum. At the same time, the 2nd female child should be applied for within 3 years of birth. One of the parents must have done family planning within 40 years. Also, if the girl child completes 10th standard and remains unmarried till the age of 18, the deposit with interest is given to them as maturity amount.

In this, those who want to benefit from the Chief Minister's Girl Child Protection Scheme, and those applying for maturity allowance for girl children who have completed 18 years of age can participate and get advice.
