Heavy traffic also occurs at Rajiv Gandhi Road (OMR), Indira Nagar junction and Tidal Park junction. In order to find a permanent solution to this, it was decided to construct 'U'-shaped flyovers at both Indira Nagar junction and Tidal Park junction.

Accordingly, administrative approval of Rs 108.13 crore has been given for integrated transport infrastructure development works, including the construction of 'U'-shaped flyovers at Indira Nagar and Tidal Park junctions. One of these works, the Indira Nagar 'U'-shaped flyover at a cost of 18.15 crores, has now been completed and opened for public use by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the 'U'-shaped flyover constructed by the Department of Highways and Minor Ports through a video presentation. Built at the Indira Nagar junction, the 237-meter-long bridge has 19 eyes with a 12.5-meter span. The ascending ramp of this bridge is 120 meters long on the right side of Rajiv Gandhi Road, and the descending ramp is 120 meters long on the left side.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena, I.A.S, Principal Secretary to Highways and Minor Ports Department Pradeep Yadav, I.A.S., Tamil Nadu Road Development Program Director Dr. S. Prabhakar, I.A.S., and Executive Director M. Vijaya also participated. From the Indira Nagar junction area, Minister of Health and Public Welfare M. Subramanian, Member of Parliament Tamilachi Thangapandian, Members of Legislative Assembly S. Aravind Ramesh, K. Ganapathi, J. M. H. Asan Maulana, A. M. V. Prabhakara Raja, Metropolitan Chennai Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor M. Mahesh Kumar, Zonal Committee Chairman Durairaj, Tamil Nadu Road Development Project Principal General Manager Manokaran, and senior government officials were present.
