A 24-hour control room has been set up in Krishnagiri to monitor the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

The move was discussed during an all-party meeting held on Monday, where officials briefed representatives on election preparedness and compliance measures. The control room will function round the clock to track violations and ensure that election guidelines are strictly followed.

According to officials, the district has a total of 15,57,923 voters, including 7,79,594 women, 7,78,065 men, and 305 third-gender voters. Voting will take place across 2,092 polling booths located in 1,151 polling centres.

Authorities said arrangements are being made to ensure smooth and transparent polling across the district. Political parties were also urged to cooperate with officials in maintaining the integrity of the election process.

The initiative aims to strengthen monitoring systems and ensure free and fair elections in Krishnagiri.
