The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) manufactures and supplies weapons, logistics, and munitions to the Indian Defense Forces. For this, laboratories are operating in different parts of the country. In this way, the Aeronautical Development Institute, the main laboratory of DRDO in Bengaluru, has designed and manufactured an unmanned automatic aircraft. This indigenously developed unmanned aerial vehicle was tested for the first time yesterday.
During the test conducted at Chitradurga, Karnataka, the aircraft achieved a successful take-off and landing. DRDO declared that the aircraft met all the objectives of the test. The officials expressed great joy.
The aircraft is powered by a small turbofan engine and is fully automatic. DRTO said that all the spare parts for this are locally manufactured. It was stated in the press release.
DRDO said that with the success of this experiment, the aircraft will be a major milestone in designing important technologies for future development of unmanned aerial vehicles and is a significant step towards self-sufficiency in such defense technologies. DRDO has said that this unmanned automatic aircraft has been successfully tested. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has praised the officers. Rajnath Singh has said that this is a big achievement in the production of automatic aircraft and has also mentioned that it will lead to India's self-reliance in the production of important military equipment.
