Transport Minister Sivashankar held a review meeting with officials at the State Transport Corporation head office on Ramakrishna Road, Salem. He appreciated the officers and employees for their continued good work by giving souvenirs. He then gave an interview to reporters. At that time, he said: "132 crore women have traveled under the free bus fare scheme in Tamil Nadu so far." This program is not available anywhere else in India. Chief Minister MK Stalin has allocated Rs 1,600 crore for this project. Hence, no loss has been incurred by the Transport Corporation due to this project.

Additional buses will be run for rural areas. Action is being taken for that. A large number of female students are joining colleges through the scheme, which provides Rs. 1,000 per month to college girls. Due to this, steps have been taken to run additional buses to the colleges. A separate WhatsApp group has been set up with head teachers for the bus facility for school students. Buses will be directed to the required places according to the information provided in it. A contract has been entered into to buy new buses. Regular inspections are conducted to prevent the overcharging of private luxury buses.
