Police to step up security at railway stations on Independence Day - Sniffer-assisted searches

On the occasion of Independence Day, 3-layer security has been put in place at major railway stations including Chennai Central Railway Station and Egmore Railway Station. Railway police and railway security forces are keeping vigilance.
As part of that, railway security forces led by Inspector Parsa Praveen conducted a special security check at Mambalam railway station last evening. The police also checked the belongings of the train passengers with the help of a metal detector and a sniffer dog named 'Dyson' for security reasons. Similarly, police security has been beefed up at all railway stations. Tests were also conducted here and there.
