Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin visit Kerala

 Law and order issues in the southern states, state border issues, infrastructural facilities, health, women's safety, inter-state river water sharing will be discussed in the meeting of the Southern Regional Council. This meeting is being organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 The meeting is considered significant as the Chief Ministers of the southern states participate in this meeting. This meeting was held in Tirupati in November last year (2021).

 Matters to be discussed

This year the 30th meeting of the South Zone Council will be held tomorrow (Saturday) in the Kerala state capital, Thiruvananthapuram.

The Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Puducherry will participate in the meeting.

Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will leave for Thiruvananthapuram today (Friday) to attend the Southern Regional Council meeting. He will fly to Thiruvananthapuram at 11.40 am and meet Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the afternoon. Then he discusses the Mullaperiyar dam issue.

The two leaders then discuss various issues including strengthening of Baby Dam, small water supply, cotton issue. The Water Resources Department Secretaries have already held talks in this regard and are going to discuss the formation of subsequent committees.

 Meeting tomorrow

Subsequently, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin will participate in the art and music program organized by the Government of Kerala this evening.

Later, he will stay in Thiruvananthapuram and take part in the meeting of the South Zone Council starting at 10 am tomorrow and take comments related to Tamil Nadu. After the meeting, he will return to Chennai by flight tomorrow at 7 pm.
