Chennai Tolkappiyapoonga, Kotturpuram Modular Water Treatment Plant, Saidappettai Thadander Nagar Modular Water Treatment Plant, Municipal Corporation Thenampettai Mandal Construction of Rainwater Drainage on G.N. Chetty Road, Kodambakkam Zone Construction of Rainwater Drainage near Kashi Theater by Highway Department, Nesapakkam Treatment Plant. Chief Secretary V. Irayanbu inspected and inspected the project works yesterday.
He also made a detailed study of the rehabilitation works of Coovam and Adyar rivers being carried out in collaboration with the Chennai Rivers Rehabilitation Trust and related departments and the work of Buckingham Canal and its main canals, rehabilitation of drainages of Coovam and Adyar rivers and environmental rehabilitation of Ennore estuary to be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs.2,371 crore.
Sewage treatment plant
The 0.60 million liter modular treatment plant being set up at Adyar at a cost of Rs.4.32 crore has been fully completed and is undergoing trial run. In Adyar and Kotturpuram area, the work of intercepting the mixed sewage directly on the right bank of Adyar river at a cost of Rs.16.16 crore has been completed. A treatment plant with a treatment capacity of 4 million liters is being constructed at a cost of Rs.14.21 crore in Tadander Nagar, Saidapet, to treat the sewage mixed with the Mambalam Stream. Also, construction of 950 meter long rainwater drainage system at the cost of Rs 6.2 crore under Singarach Chennai 2.0 project on Thenampet GN Road and construction of rainwater drainage system near Khasi Theater is underway on behalf of Highways Department. Chief Secretary V. Irayanbu inspected and inspected these projects.
Instructions to Officers
