Mountain rail service between Mettupalayam-Uthagai resumes from today

Nilgiris district experienced heavy rains with heavy thunder around midnight on 13th. As a result, landslides occurred at more than 10 places on the hill railway between Kallaru-Hillgrove and giant rocks fell on the tracks.
The work of removing the rocks and earth piles that have fallen on the railway track was carried out intensively. The railway administration had informed that the mountain train service has been canceled due to this.
Southern Railway has announced that the Mettupalayam - Uthagai Hill train service will resume from today as these works are completed and the railway track is ready.
