MOU for the launch of India's first Prime Minister's Integrated Textile Zone and Garment Park (PM MITRA) at E. Kumaralingapuram, Virudhunagar District, in the presence of M. K. Stalin and Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal (22.3.2023) at the Anna Centenary Memorial Library Hall, Chennai. Agreements were entered into between the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Union Government.
The Prime Minister of India announced on March 17, 2023, that under the Integrated Textile Zone and Garment Park (PM MITRA) scheme, the first of the seven states to have Textile Parks will be Virudhunagar District in Tamil Nadu. E. Kumaralingapuram has been selected and announced.

The park will provide employment to around 2,000 people when it is fully operational. A total of seven major industrial enterprises, along with the Tamil Nadu Mentoring Institute and four micro, small, and medium enterprises in the textile sector, plan to start business in this park. 11 MoUs signed today. From this, an investment of Rs 1,231 crore will be attracted, and employment will be created for 6,315 persons.
